11 ARA Member Facilities Recognized For Outstanding Environmental Stewardship

The ARA recently honored some its members for being selected as 2007 Environmental Respect Award winners at the state level.  Among them were IAP members, Carolina Eastern and Douglass Fertilizer & Chemical which is a part of ChemNut, Inc.  Below is the press release direct from the ARA.

Washington, DC, May 11, 2007 – The Agricultural Retailers Association (ARA) applauds 11 of its member facilities for being selected as 2007 Environmental Respect Award winners at the state level.

The Environmental Respect Awards, sponsored by DuPont and CropLife magazine, are the agricultural industry's highest recognition for environmental stewardship among U.S. agricultural retailers, those who serve farmers and ranchers with the nutrients, pest control and agronomic information critical to effective crop productions.  The following ARA member facilities have been recognized at the state level:

 Douglass Fertilizer & Chemical       Clewiston, Florida
 UAP Distribution                              Flora, Illinois

 Crop Production Services               Blissfield, Michigan
 Crop Production Services               Sikeston, Missouri
 Carolina Eastern-Vail, Inc.              Salem, New York

"On behalf of the ARA board of directors, I am proud to congratulate these members for their environmental-friendly business efforts and applaud them on this prestigious recognition," said Jack Eberspacher, ARA president and CEO.

ARA Vice President of Regulatory Policy and Corporate Relations Jim Thrift served on the 2007 selection committee.  The selection committee is comprised of representatives from national ag associations, CropLife magazine, DuPont Crop Protection and past regional Environmental Respect Award recipients.
